Character Name: Rey
Canon: Star Wars
Canon Information: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Wars
Canon Point: Early TLJ, after her first lesson with Luke.
Age: 19
God Houses:

Sigyn: Rey is a compassionate soul, despite having lived most of her life alone, she easily grows to care for the people that she meets along her journey, Finn - the Resistance hero who she finds is a defector from the First Order and Han Solo, who she comes to find almost a father figure. Saving BB-8 from a scavenger, and then refusing to sell him to Plutt. She also eventually joins up the Resistance and seeks to bring Luke Skywalker back to them, to help aid in the fight against the First Order.

Tyr: Rey, once she gets underway in her adventure, is brave enough to stand up to Kylo Ren - and to chase Luke Skywalker down into the unknown and convince him to help, to teach her. She is not afraid to push herself, and face down a challenge after realizing that she can't run from her place in the fight and that she's meant to be more than just a scavenger on Jakku.

Heimdall: There was a time where Rey only had loyalty for herself because she only had herself. But she's learned to trust in others, and that she's not just fighting for herself, but her friends and for the fate of the galaxy. She's also, always ready to throw down.

Personality: Rey is, first and foremost a survivor. Grown up on the barren desert of Jakku, from a young age, Rey has had to learn to fend for herself. By fighting, her skills with a staff are quite good. By scavenging, as those who are able to produce results get better portions of food.

First off, Rey is quite adaptable and a quick learner. Growing up around the skeletons and ghosts of ships, she's a self taught pilot and not a bad one, either. She shows off this skill when she and Finn first daringly escape Jakku when being chased down by the First Order for BB-8 and she has to fix up the ship as they fly towards the base.

Most importantly to say that Rey is an optimist. A stubborn and determined one, at that. It shows time and time again. Her optimism borders on naivety, a black and white world of good and evil - when Luke tries to explain about the follies of the Jedi, she doesn't believe him. Can't. She expects things to work out on the basis that she believes in them, and acts sometimes impulsively because of it.

Abandoned at a young age, this shapes a lot of Rey's character. She's alone, she's had to fend for herself, but she dreams and waits for the day that her family will come back for her. In the beginning, she's very reluctant to leave Jakku out of fear that they'll come back for her and she'll be gone. After meeting Han Solo and impressing him with her skills on the Falcon, he hints that he might be looking for someone to fly with him -- but she turns him down. Reluctantly, despite the fact that she obviously wants to stay with him, and despite the fact that in the short time she's known him, she's begun to see a father figure in him.

She's at first, trusting. Maybe a little bit too much so. After a lifetime of being lonely, how does one people? To Finn, who she guesses to be a Resistance fighter on a secret mission to deliver BB-8 to the base. Rey believes him almost instantly, and when they reach Maz's palace and he admits he's a Stormtrooper, she doesn't care. They've fled the First Order together, and he's helped her. He's the first friend she's gained -- truly gained and she doesn't want to lose him. She's loyal to her friends, when she makes them because she's had so few of them. After rescuing BB-8 from other scavengers in the desert, she's offered a large amount of food in return for him, and she refuses. Because he's on a mission, and because she kind of likes the droid.

After her initial vision when finding the lightsaber belonging to Luke Skywalker, she's afraid, and still wants to go home. It's not until captured by Kylo Ren and her power begins to unlock does she really start to accept it. She is able to withstand his ability and even manages to use her own, cleverly getting a trooper to release her -- while Finn and Han Solo are on base looking for her. She and Kylo eventually fight, and she gives into the Force and her anger and after Kylo injures Finn, the two face off and she is able to wound him, leaving him for dead on the imploding base.

Deep down, Rey has always known she was different. Even while on Jakku, before being swept up in the war. When she finally meets Luke Skywalker and he doesn't want to teach her out of his own misdeeds and failures, she intrigues him and she does manage to sway him. However, her desires take the better of her and when tested, she shows herself as a force to be reckoned with. When the Force offers her something she's looking for, she takes it, trusts without questioning it despite it leading to the dark side. Her power is untapped, and it frightens him - he sees Kylo, and his failure to teach him, and barely manages to bring her back from the brink.
